The 583.xxx series were all High Standards. Have a Higgins 20 and a 21- great little shotguns, dirt cheap, and the doves never complained that they got popped with a J C Higgins.

The Model @0 was made by High Standard exclusively for Sears. It was designed exclusively for Sears by Fred Humeston of High Standard and had the High Standard designator HS2. There were several generations of the Model 20 HS2, HS3, HS3-1, HS3-2, HS3-3. Each design variation had a different identifier number defined by Sears. 583.53, 583.54, etc.

Note that that High Standard began in 1960 to market a variant of the Model 20 under the High Standard name using the trade name Flite King.

The High Standard model 200 was not introduced until the late 1960's several years after the Model 20 was discontinued. The Model 20 is similar to but not the same as teh High Stadanrd model 200.
