Spoting scope

Hi guys, looking for reviews on a spotting i saw today at a pawn shop, looks interesting an was hoping maybe some one had some experience with a Konusr 30-90x65 mm Spotting Scope or any info you mite have

  I'm looking at a redfield. anyone have any comments on this or an equivilent downrange spoting scope?

  Excellent optics = big bucks. Lot of these Chinese and other Asian made scopes are being sold using the names of high quality U.S. optics from the past. No matter whose name is on it, if it's relatively inexpensive chances are it's Chinese made caca.

  I believe that current Redfield scopes are made by Leupold.
  
  Or, are you talking about an older scope made by Redfield?

  Are you sure, that they are not just being SOLD by Leupold? I could have sworn, that I saw swear words on the body of one of their new rifle scopes.

  rufe-snow is correct. When it comes to optics, there is NO FREE LUNCH, when it comes to quality. About the only bargain you will find with quality glass, is someone that has a high end glass, and needs to scavange it to pay for a divorce, kids braces, car breakdown repair, etc...in most of those type cases, they will take far less for it than what they paid.
  
  If you really want to see something at distance, you need to start with Leupold, or Burris, and transferse toward Steiner, Zeiss, or Swarovski.

  It depends on the model of the spotting scope and from which maker.
  
  From the Redfield website:

  Price will usually be the variable which determines the quality of the glass and the spotting scope. Less expensive scopes give me headaches so I opt for the more expensive scopes with better glass. These will have better resolution for the distances that I shoot.
  
  Short range 100-200 yards, the lesser prices scope may be just fine for amount of time used and what you require of the scope. But if you need bullet hole resolution at longer distances for target shooting or competition then you will want to step way up in both cost and quality. Do bear in mind though that some manufacturers rely on name recognition for their inflated pricing. Leupold is one such company. They are currently in the category of overpriced/under-delivered.

  thanks gents. I'm usually shooting at 200 yds or less at my range, and have found a Burris 25-75X that is in my price range. Thanks again for the help.
