6.5x284 in a T/C venture?
i just got a venture with weathershield and fluted barrel in the 6.5x284 norma. i was wondering if anybody could tell me some info on this gun...i just got mine new from my local gunshop who ordered it from bill hicks...so i know it was a bill hicks exclusive beyond that i have no other info. i asked thompson center's customer service about it and they told me that they didnt make a 6.5x284 nor did they ever make it....if they didnt then how do i have one and how is there some for sale on gunbroker? unless they were outsourced of something. this has been bugging me and i cant find anything online about it so i was curious if anybody knew when these were produced, how many were made ...stuff like that. thanks

Seems to me if TC doesn't know anything about it, best to contact Bill Hicks. Probably special run gun made for him, like S & W makes revolvers for Horton. 0 -
I bought a T/C venture weathershield in 6.5X284 Norma within the last two months on GB and it wasn't from Bill Hicks. Really nice rifle; I'm sure you will like it. 0 -

If you got it through Bill Hicks I'm sure it's a good rifle. As you probably know the T/C Venture is their 'low cost' entry into the bolt action world. So far from what I've seen and heard they have been as good as the Icons, but nowhere near as pretty or versatile.0 -
called bill hicks and got nothing from them, i tried T/C again and finally got someone who knew about the rifle. they told me it had a 1-8 rate of twist, was a long action and used standard long action clips, it was a bill hicks dealer exclusive and was made for one month only in the month of june 2012. i asked for a rough figure on the amount produced but the rep i spoke with didnt have that info but did say that it was a very limited run and few were made. 0 -
got the return call from the bill hicks rep...he told me that there were only 45 made with weather shield and only 21 in the blued variation (i have the weather sheild). extremly limited run. i have just shot mine and it shoots great. i am using the norma oryx 156 grain and i am getting a 3 shot cloverleaf that a dime will cover. well pleased with it. 0
