Barnes Tac-XP 380 Load
I'm trying to find data on a .380 load using Win-231 and the Barnes TAC-XP 80 grn (.355,solid copper,HP) bullet. All sources list 90 grain & above bullet weights using Win-231, which is my preferred powder but nothing for the 80 grain. Not looking for max load but close to 900 fps.
(Also using Win new brass & Win SP primers)
As a novice reloader, I defer to experience rather than trying to guess.
Lyman,Speer,Hornady manuals are wide ranging in the 90 grain & Win231 load with respect to start / max loads. I do know this Barnes Tac bullet seats lower than most due to its length thus reducing case volume. A few friends say use the start load of W-231 for a 90 grain when loading the 80 grain.
Anyone using these bullets with W-231 ?

I'd start at 2.9GR-3.1GR max. 0 -
That is what it will be then, I was guessing at around 3.0 +/- but being relatively new to reloading, and the bullet length it seemed wise to ask first.
Not the first time you came thru for me DCS, thanks again.0
