S&W Model 64 caliber change to .367 Magnum
Can a S&W Model 64 be converted to .357 Magnum by fitting an early S&W Model 66 cylinder with recessed chambers? I would prefer a cylinder with recessed chambers over a S&W Model 65-type cylinder.

No. The M64 is built on the "K service frame", & the M66 is built on the "K magnum frame". If you are not happy with what you own, buy the model that you want.

I believe if you get a model 65-2 or earlier mark, you will get the counterbored cylinder as in the 65-3 the counterbore and the pinned barrel was eliminated. 0 -
the cylinder is longer. you would have to reset the headspace and barrel cylinder gap 0 -
remember a steady diet of magnums will loosen the gun up faster 0
