Redhawk base
Never had one but this looks odd to me. Is the part on the sides of the barrel normal?

On the Redhawk, the factory rings fit onto the barrel where it had been machined to accept the rings. Some Redhawks did not have this machining and this appears to be one of them. 0 -
I remember the integral base, does the base pictured clamp on to the barrel? 0 -
For the Ruger guns that don't have the integral base, like the one in the link, a base like the B-Square one is used. You have to remove the rear sight, and use the barrel clamps to secure it, like you see in the pictures.

That's either a Weigan or B-Square base. 0
