According to my copy of the 31st Edition of The Blue Book Of Gun Values (copyright 2010) The chipmunk Mfg. Company was bought by the maker of Crickett Rifle. Although there are listing for Chipmunk rifles in the book, there are no quanities listed. There is an address listed for Crickett Rifles and that is:
    Keystone Sporting Arms
    165 Sodom Road
    Milton. PA 17847
    Tel: 800 742 0455
    Fax: 570 742 1455
    Email: infoAcrickett.com
You might contact them and see if they have the information.

I love that replay on Gun Talk when Tom Grishem has the BATF agent asking us to report that Chipmunk rifle heading south to become the weapon of choice for the drug dealers.

Mike, Chipmunk fan as well.. Don't have any total production numbers, but thought I'd pass this on.. I still have these.. They were ordered direct from Chipmunk mfg, so it gives some idea on the volume made during those years..

    #33828- October 1985
    #33849- October 1985
    #39501- November 1986
    #39535- November 1986
    #41854- April 1987

The first 2 are standard grade, the next 3, deluxe.. I also ordered the milled trigger guards..

As my daughter grew, I fixed up one of the standard ones.. At that time, Fagen didn't have a stock, so I sent the stock to them for a pattern,, Had them cut a semi-finished AAA mannlicher, adding 2" plus to LOP.. Installed a tip-off base and mounted a NOS Redfield 3/4" 4X I'd kept from the 60's.. Also used a NOS pair of those Redfield 3/4" tip-off steel rings.. Rifle/scope proportions are just right.. After all these years, she still wants to take it out each time we go shooting..

Hangfire, mine is 37978. I bought it used in San Jose and didn't get a box with it and by your numbers, I would put it in the first half of '86.
    Thanks.

I found two in the back of the gun room. One is labeled Rogue Rifle Co, Prospect OR, with serial number 66273 and the second is labeled Oregon Arms Inc, Medford, ORE with serial number 44167. Undoubtedly, they were made in a lot of different locations and companies.

Wow, that's at least four different makers. Gonna be a nice little collector niche one day. [:)]
