Sorry Guys Some how my topic got licked and I cant unlock it..to respond.

I have tried WW Silver Tips, Federal and Gold Dots in both .38 .38+P
and .357 I am holding the muzzel up and the cylnder holes down. in the weak had and hitting the ejector rod with the strong hand. The empties should explode out of the cylinder but they dont. I still have to pick out some of the caseings by hand.. A little toilsome when you try to do 12 rounds in 28 seconds form 15 yards.
Gun is very clean and the grips are not causing the problem. It jst seems that the ejector rod is too short. I tried a Smith Wesson K .38 a friend had and they explode out of the cylinder. We cant figure it out other than the rod is too short or the cylinnders need some work or polishing?? Any more suggestions. Im getting ready to return it to Ruger or buy another gun..??

Do you know what a split ball gauge is and how to use one to inspect each chamber? I think you should return it to Ruger with the spent brass still in the holes and ask them to fix it.

    Layne12gun,

It sounds to me like your chamber's need to be polished out. Some J-B bore cleaning compound, on a tight patch, with a drill will do that. Check the chamber mouths for burrs too. Lastly, the chamber's should be clean and DRY, not clean and oiled.

TSR is giving you good advice. Try polishing the cylinder bores first [;)]

On my GP 100 the rod is short, if I mess around with the gun pointed down the empty cases are bad to fall under the extractor.

Empty like you said tipped barrle up they pop right out and hit the floor.

Beats me why the rod cant be a bit longer.
