EAA Bounty Hunter
I am looking for comments regarding the quality of these guns.
The particular one I may buy is a 45 Colt caliber with case colors.
Can anyone tell me if they have true case hardened coloring.

EDIT:duckhunter...I take your(no)response to mean they do not have true case coloring.Is this correct?
I have inquired about the Ruger Vaquero and found they are not true case hardened.
Most of the experts on this forum advise I step up to a Colt or USFA.
A new one simply cost more than the $700 Im willing to spend for a cowboy gun.
I dont plan to competition shoot.Yet dont want to buy a low quality gun.
I am not sure,but I believe some of the Ubertis may have a true case hardened finish.
At this point it seems looking for a used USFA may be the best way for me to go.

any good ?? I have been looking for an inexpensive 44 magnum revolver just to have with my 44 mag rifle. I was looking for a Ruger Blackhawk but came up on a new in box EAA for $200. Non adj sights and a 5 1/2 barrel is the only drawback but hey for the price I am thin king of getting it..what say you on the quality ??? 0 -
No. Put a little more money in the deal and get a Ruger. 0 -
I know buying American is a good thing to do, but between EAA and Ruger...it's EAA.

No, nothing pretty much comes colored as true case hardening anymore. Nothing in the gun industry now. It's a chemical finish to get the colors that used to look like case hardening. The upside of that is you are starting with incredibly better steel. The case hardening looks nice but, doesn't mean much unless you are collecting original pieces.0 -
My EAA Bounty Hunter is not case hardened. But, it is of excellent quality, fit, and finish. I DO use it in fast draw competition. It has the rising hammer block and flat faced hammer like a Ruger instead of the firing pin hammer, like a Colt.
For fun shooting, you will not go wrong with the EAA, and you will save money over buying a Colt or Ruger. If you want one that has the exposed firing pin and 4 clicks like a Colt, you can get very good quality 6-guns from Uberti and Llipietta also. Lots of choices. Have fun shopping and comparing. [:)]0
