This rifle was righteous, I guess. What made it worth so much more than most other Model 1894s? The takedown, the deluxe wood, the age? Was that really a 90%? Wonder who got it?

Yes, it is really worth that much $$$$$. It was a combination of the pre-1899 manufacture date, the condition, and all of the special order features. 0 -

THAT is a damn fine looking '94. (The seller should be commended for putting in probably the best set of pics I've seen on an auction.) If I had about 14k laying around, I'd look to bid on that... but I don't so I'll dream instead..[8D] 0
