ammo problem or rifle problem
I took my c93 out today to zero. First 20 rounds I put through were wolf. They shot fine. Next 3 round iteration, the ammo would not fire with the magazine in. After a half an hour of getting frustrated I switched to federal. Put 100 rounds of federal through with no problem. After cleaning up most of my brass I did notice there was quite a bit of carbon on the base of all expended rounds. Any ideas?

Definition of ITERATION. 1: the action or a process of iterating or repeating: as a: a procedure in which repetition of a sequence of operations yields results.
You post is very difficult to understand. Would the ammo fire with the magazine out? Do you have a firing pin strike or not? Failure to feed or what? What is a "c93"? Is that like an HK-93?0 -

Yeah, its a HK93 parts kit built up by the angry beavers at Century.
So your problem could be hte ammo... or it could be that it is a century... or it could be the ammo in that century.0 -
The iterations I was referring to are the same as the army uses for zeroing... fire3 rounds, check you target, make adjustments, fire again.
The c93 is the century arms import of the hk93. The rounds failed to fire with the magazine in, but only the wolf ammo. Federal fired just fine. The carbon was noticed on the federal brass at the base of the bullet.0 -
I would keep going with the Federal, if it's working OK.
There are different vintages of Wolf ammo. I've had problems with the early steel case stuff both feeding and firing pin wise. Their military grade primer cups themselves are made out of steel leading to common FTF events.
The latest Wolf ammo I have used have fed OK because it has a plastic coating unlike the earlier stuff. The hard steel primers still cause me occasional grief though.0 -

It's common for some rifles to leak a little gas around the neck before the rest of the case forms a seal . Especially with a semi auto , does the c93 have a fluted chamber like an HK ? 0 -

The H&K style fluted chamber is intended to vent a small amount of gas back to the shoulder of the case to ease/aid extraction. This will result in fairly dirty brass - lots of carbon on the cases. When you say "on the bases" are you talking about the flat base where the primer and headstamp info is or the bottom of the case body at the web or head area? Carbon on the base would be unusual on the base of the case at the web would be common. As to the second set not firing; if the bolt had anything dragging on it it may not have been able to close fully and the hammer could not strike the head of the firing pin squarely. It could be the plastic coating on the Wolf ammo may have slowed the bolt carrier down. 0 -

Might want to check that fact again since the importation of HK93's has been illegal since 1989. Second they are NOT HK guns and the price easily reflects that very easy.
Century has a bunch of used parts kits and built them into complete guns using many US made parts.0
