  Colt made a 1911 type pistol with some cost cutting changes slide marked model 1991 But I never saw a DA "DOUBLE ACTION trigger" model in one . that might be why no one has replied up to now, PERRY Shooter

  gregw asked the same question on the Colt Forum, and the answer was the same. There is no such thing, which, by extension, makes the question unanswerable.

  There was a 1991 type that had a double action trigger, and it was called the Double Eagle, it was NOT a 1991, but rather marked DOUBLE EAGLE.

  There were two for sale on the auction side in the last week or so. Search for 1911 DA or just 1911 and read the descriptions.

  Picked up my new Colt double action only today. Will clean it tonight and take it to the range Friday. Will also take my 10 mm Delta Elite and compare the two.
