mossberg bolt question
I just picked up a rusty old 16 ga bolt...I was able to work the bolt freely but when I dry fired it, I couldn't get bolt back open...do I need to press a release or do something to open the bolt? stand on one leg and hop around? thanks!

I don't think there are tricks/catches. My guess she is bound up with rust. Try and soak the metal inside and out with penetrating oil. Might try tapping with wood mallet or a lead hammer. 0 -

I have Mossberg mod 185D, 20ga bolt action that belonged to my uncle. No trick at all to opening the bolt after firing.....should open normally. 0 -
I've got a couple of the Mossberg bolt actions, it takes a bit of force to lift the bolt handle. 0 -
