Remington 209 primers,Kleanbore muzzleloading.
On the box it said--for muzzle loading use only, not suitable for use with smokeless powders or in reloading shot shells.----Why?--Are the primers hotter or what?

probably less hot (brisance) due to the black powder being much more flammable (or should I say, ignites much faster than smokeless powder) 0 -
Correct. The ML 209 primers are less powerful than regular shotgun primers.
I use Knight ML rifles with 209 primers. Regular shotgun primers will blow the bolt/striker back hard enough to recock but the ML primers don't. BTW this is a factor of the size of the flash hole/tube in the breach plug. I've seen articles from people who've drilled the orifice out"for better ignition". I wouldn't go there at all.0
