Standard Arms
I would like to know if anyone knows what caliber the Standard Arms Camp gun used.I missed one here in Northern NY, that some lucky gentlemen now owns.I did see one once that also had 28G stamped on the barrel.Anyone with any info?I also have a 35 Standard Arms Cartridge.

If you mean an unfired 50-70 is too long, the Camp Gun loads were buckshot or round ball, so were probably length of a fired case?0 -

Here's a long thread on another forum confirming your finding, old advertisements, and suggestion that the 50-95 case was used:

The 50-95's rim diamter was only .627 compared to .660 for the 50-70.

HRF I thank you very much for the info.It appears that after all these years no one seems to be difinitive on the Caliber.I have owned several of these Standards,and seen maybe 20-25.I seen a Camp gun also with different slide handles,and a unique one that also had 28G stamped on the barrel also. 0
