Open Sights on Savage
I picked up a Savage .375 on the auction side.
It has 3 sets of rear sights that 'flip' up or down.
Not knowing how to use them exactly (I'm used to one rear sight) I flipped up all three sets of rear sights and was high on the three shots that I took at 50 yards. I had the last shot on paper but about 6 inches high. Though I aimed low on the target so actually closer to 10-12 inches high from aim point.
I assumed (maybe poorly) that if I used all three sets of rear sights I had a chance for better alignment on the target. But with now I'm unsure the purpose of the three and if it may have had something to do with point of impact?
Any guidance is welcome.

The sights should be marked as to what distance they are regulated for.
The first sight should be 50 or 100 yards, the second 200 yards, and the third 300 yards. Every set of sights is different but there is usually some indication as to what distance they are for.0 -
Sure sounds like express sights to me, though the ones I remember only had two that folded and on fixed. Maybe yours was made to clear a scope. You should shoot it the various ranges to figure out where it shoot dead on, ie not a 6 o'clock hold on a target. 0 -

If you look carefully the sights should be lowest in height off the barrel from shooter, to highest (muzzle side).
What you need to do is drop the rear two 'leafs' and then see where the rifle hits @100 with the rear leaf.
Then raise and sight in the second 'leaf' at 200 and then the third @ 300.0
