question from new member. Wife asked me what I wanted for bday, I said id like to have a colt 1917 someday. Bless her heart she thought she would surprise me with one. Well I got an old colt but I cant figure out what it is. Its a large frame double action colt with an after market barrel marked new service & 1917 (I think numrich sold these barrels years ago)Anyway there arent any serial numbers on the crane or the frame under the crane. the cylinder is bored .462 at the loading end and .458 at the discharge end. cylinder is 1.60 long. The only serial # is on the butt near laynard hole. the serial number is 24683. numbers are about.070 high and whole sequence of numbers is about.438. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks in advance 0
