I guess my question is that for a goal of 1.5 in high at 100 yd.

Where should the poi be at 25 yd?

I played with the ballistics calculator at Hornady http://www.hornady.com/ballistics-resource/ballistics-calculator

and just as I remembered (most guns) at 25 yard cuts the paper the same place at 200. In your case that would be 2.5 inches high at 100 for their 110 hp. You may need to shim the front of the rail or get one with evelation built in.

The sight is installed on a flattop. The rail is an integral part of the upper reciever casting. There is no "shim under the rail" here, and the "shim" goes under the rear of the rail, not the front, if it were able to have a shim.

    roswellnative,

Which ACOG site do you have? Is it an actual Trijicon, or a knockoff? If I am not mistaken, with some of the Trijicon models, there is a base/elevation adjustment for coarse elevation, and the turret is for the finer adjustment.

Is this upper a factory built upper, or a parts gun? Could it be possible that the threads in the upper for the barrel are off?

Also, considering your sight height above the centerline of the bore, it might be a bit much to ask for that much adjustment, but at 6-7 inches low, I am thinking that the barrel is canted.

There is got to be something else at play here maybe not a real ACOG. I had no problem sighting mine in at 25yds.

We had the same issues sighting in M-4's, we found that at 25 yards every shot was a bit low. I moved to 100, did them 2" high, and we're darn close to center at 30 and again at about 200.
