    It looks complete, standard m38 7.35 cal carcano. The pics do not show if the stock was cut down or full length, should have a mauser looking bayonet lug under the barrel . Mag well is open like that due to the fact the italians used a stripper clip/charger that locked in place holding the rounds and remained inside until the last bullet was loaded then it droped out. I just bought 75 of those a few months back.

    The rear sight is forward of the chamber area, integral with the receiver. Picture #2 shows the rear sight clearly.

    No, that is a good starting price their generally worth more then the Russian 91/30's

    Did you price it too high, well if you ask that question 2-10 years ago the answer would be h__l yes! Now it is a definite NO! For some reason, could be the military rifle surge in general, the Carcanos are bringing more an dmore well above $200 and as much as $500. The main thing is to make sure the barrel has not been cut at all. The Carcano has again twist barrel and if they are cut down they will be very inaccurate. They are great in unmolested condition because the gain twist stabilizes the bullet really well where as if cut down they do not. Now back to price, as few as 2 years ago you could buy all the carcanos you wanted for around $100 +/- $50. Like i said though, they have now become a sought after item in the surplus rifle market.

    That is a nice examle from what I saw of it. You should do good on it.

    Seeing that it has been sporterized- which wasn't apparent in your original request or pic set- yes, far too high. $200 is a fair price for an original unmessed with example. I'd say a sporter is worth half that, at most. Let it run as is, you never know who might bite, if you don't get any bids I'd drop to $150, then finally $100 and I'd imagine you'd get bites there.

    Thanks, I added more photos just to be sure of what I had there. I did not realize it was sporterized. I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to surplus military rifles. Thanks for the help!

    Bear in mind that, as it has been sporterized and not in its original military configuration, it's no longer C&R eligible.
