Muzzle Break

Hi; I recently bought a Ruger M77 MarkII 7mm magnum. I was sure I had to have one. Well, my problem now is, It kicks the bejeebers out of me. Does anyone have any idea of the cost of a muzzle break, or porting? And who does it in Pa.? Grices doesn't do it. Thanks, Mike
P.S. I love the gun, but can't take the kick anymore, since I'm almost 70 now.

    I picked up a AK kit this week. And for the life of me I can not get the muzzle break off. I have been spraying it down with WD and CLP. Any suggestions on how to get this thing off with out butchering up the barrel would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Basically: It redirects a portion of the expanding gases at the muzzle in order to lessen felt recoil. The breaks tend to greatly increase the noise of firearms and just how much recoil reduction they offer is based mostly on the level of recoil generated by the cartridge. The 7.62X39 round is not an especially hard kicking round so muzzle breaks in that caliber are mostly ornaments rather than functional accessories.

    I believe that a "muzzle break" is what you get when you use the barrel end of your rifle to pry open a steel door.

    The device that reduces muzzle flip is a "muzzle brake".

    The only "dumb" question is the question you didn't ask, but should have.

    The vast majority of muzzle breaks from SKS rifles are pin on types and simply give the rifle a more "military" appearance rather then actually reducing recoil.

    Be careful when buying these especially for SKS's. The quality and fit may not be the greatest. This one flew off mine, sheared the pin and caught the end of the brake. It could have been a lot worse.
