remington 700 trigger
I have a new model 700 Rem. I didn't like the trigger, and attempted to put a new older Timmney trigger into my new 700, and ran into problems installing it. Is the older Timmney triggers different on installing then the new ones. I don't know if the older Timney trigger is only for older Rem. 700 models. Is there anything different on the newer Rem. 700's then the older 700's as far as installing a Timney trigger.

I am thinking of buying a friends heavy barrel 22-250. It shoots great but the trigger is lighter (less than a pound) than I would like and the gun will fire if the bolt is SLAMMED forward (the main problem that I have with the rifle). He uses it for a paper target rifle. What would need to be done to make the rifle where it does not SLAM FIRE. Since it is Sunday, I can not call a local gunsmith. I was not sure if there is adjustments that could be made or a new trigger assembly, etc. What should this cost? Thanks 0 -

The X Mark Pro trigger will interchange with the original M700 trigger. Be aware that they tune differently and require a slightly different feel. Also be aware that these trigger are tunable down to about 2-1/2 lbs. but require someone with the experience and expertise to achieve this safely. If you don't understand triggers, leave the tuning to a professional.

I have both...the older 700 and a newer one with the ProX. For Hunting, I think the new trigger is GREAT! NO creep...it's CRISP and the PULL for me is fine! I will say...that IF you want a LIGHT trigger for target or varmits the OLDER triggers seem better suited for this, and can be re-fined by professionals to any liking. 0
