I too have a Sport King. There were three models, First, Second and Lightweight. The First Model had a post and hole lock up for the barrel and no slide lock back on last shot. They were made from 1950 to 1954. The Second Model has a tongue and groove lock up for the barrel and does have a slide lock back on last shot. The Lightweight Model has a forged aluminum alloy frame and was made from 1955 to 1964. Mine is the Second Model purchased New in The Box in May 1955. 0 -
Blacarrow,
2,498,8xx went to assembly on June 23 or June 24 1975 depending on the XX. Most in that range finished assembly in June with a few in July and one poor gun that did not complete until November 1975.
Ned,
There are surely more than the three variations you describe.
