Need help with odd weapon rack
My brother has picked up an odd weapon rack which we can find no info on. No pic yet but here's what we do know, we think. It holds an M-1 carbine and with the weapon in the rack the trigger and mag well are blocked by the device. The lock is a cylinder type made by Medco. Painted gray with no tag or markings of any kind. Weights in around 40 pounds with holes for bolting to a bulkhead. Anyone every seen or know about such a thing? Thanks

stand up type? possible cop car mount? 0 -
By the looks of it I would say it mounts parallel to the ground or deck. Just not made right to go in a vehicle in vertical position. 0 -
I have seen a mount for the Garand that mounts horizontally on the dash of a jeep or other military vehicle. Unless it was an MP vehicle or, possibly, used for sector patrol in Berlin I can't see the use of the lock. Could mount on the floor or inner surface of the trunk lid of a patrol car for police work. 0 -
Sounds like a rifle rack that they used to have onboard US Navy amphibious ships. The Marine berthing areas had these onboard the USS Dubuque LPD-8 and USS New Orleans LPH-11 back in the day. 0 -
