Winchester 1873 buttplate

Will the crescent buttplate from a Winchester 1873 fit the stock of a Win. 1894? Any info is appreciated. Terrill

  It will if the Model 1873 butt plate is from a 32 WCF or .22 rim fire rifle. The butt plates for the Model 1873 in 38 WCF and 44 WCF have a trap door in it, and as such, it will not fit up to a Model 1894 stock without modifications to the stock.
