help with ID on ruger rifle
my buddy just picked up a ruger 77 mk II compact in 243 but here is the kicker...it has a factory synthetic stock on it. i cant find this configuration anywhere. just wondering if it came like this or if someone may have put a hawkeye compact stock on it. any help will be appreciated. thanks

The Hawkeye's have the thin synthetic stocks on them.

Yes, they made the Compact in both blue, and stainless, if I am not mistaken, and with both laminated, and synthetic stocks.

Yes,The Ruger M77 Mark II came from the factory with a black synthetic stock and a 20" barrel. 0 -
it is not a full size mk II it is a compact with a synthetic stock 0 -
regardless, i finally got to see it in person and realized what it was imediatly.....a 77 mk II COMPACT 243 and the previous owner has restocked it with a full size synthetic stock. so a compact rifle with a 16 inch barrel dressed with a full size stock....about 4 inches of barrel sticks past the stock. very interesting looking to say the least. any way thanks for the imput 0
