Drill and tap scope mount

What are the proper drill and tap sizes for a scope mount? Specifically I want to reuse the screws for a T/C contender bull barrel base.

  most scope bases are mounted with 6x48 or 8x40 screws. 6x48 being the most common. drill and tap charts are readily available on the web. goggle for results.
