Maybe if it was a 38 Special. It looks to be chambered for the .38 S & W cartridge, not the .38 Special. .38 S & W is not common ammo to get hold of nowadays. It is also more expensive then .38 Special ammo.

I would pass on it. Pick up one of the police trade in's floating around, believe that CDNN is selling them. Way better deal then this old Colt.
