    Agree with MIKE WISKEY. Call a few local gunsmiths to see if any have Bulk AcraGlass they would sell you a bit of. 8cc's of resin and 2cc's of hardner should be enough. Use your sanding dust in the AG in place of floc.

    Acraglas Gel should also work and would give you more time to play with, if that would be a consideration for you.

    Different strokes for different folks ! I use TiteBond wood glue for what you are doing , works for me ! One good point of the Acra Gel is that you can die it .

    Carpenters glue usually does the trick for me.

    wood glue didn't work, turned black after sanding and true oil.....[V] initials are D C, my grandsons are B G, with a little more carving he may have his own model 12 [;)]

    Maybe a nice brass inlay with new initials set over the old ones.
