    It would have had more impact if it was actually given by Wayne. Or at least transferred during his lifetime. Wayne died in 79, so the connection is tenuousness at best, IMHO.

    I might be wrong but don't see it bringing in much more money then a standard John Wayne Commemorative. I remember they, ( J.W. Commemoratives ) were a real hot number when they first hit the street. People were fighting over them in our local discount store. Winchester got on the bandwagon and knocked out thousands more then they first intended to make, when the found out how much they were in demand.

    Still, no reason to use it as a hunting rifle.

    "Mint" implies unhandled, with perfect box & papers. If so, it would sell in the $1,500-2000 range.
