357 Revolver Advice
I have got $450, have an opportunity on 2 revolvers
A newer Ruger SP101 3" SS with 100 rounds through it
or
An older Colt Trooper MKIII 4" Blued with some pretty good holster wear at the end of the barrel the rest of it is in great shape.
thoughts?

Being an old school guy who loves old stuff, I'd go with the Colt. Plus you may have a better resale, increasing value thing with the Colt. I love Troopers. A six inch Trooper was the second revolver I ever owned and the first one I paid for myself. The only other 357's I would consider would be Smith and Wessons. Not that the Ruger is a bad piece, but they are still making new ones. There won't be anymore Colts coming down the line. I regret ever letting that Trooper go and now that my lust for old Smith's is sated, I keep an eye out for Colt Troopers, Lawman, and other big frame 357 Colts. I already have a Python that was my carry gun back in the 70's. 0 -
i would go with the colt. rugers are good firearms and easy to acquire. this is that one time opp.
holster wear is just honest wear.. only cosmetic.0 -

I agree with the rest, and the Colt's are like the Dan Wesson's...rapidly drying up. Grab the Colt.

For $450 go with the Colt 0 -
Hopefully you get the Colt 0 -
I will fall in line....go for the Colt for all the reasons mentioned. Shoot it for years and at the end sell it for more than you paid[:D] Doesn't get any better than that! 0 -
Trooper! 0 -
has anyone voted for the colt? no? well, i guess i'll place my vote for the colt then.
you can buy a ruger any day0 -
I will swim against tide and say COLT! 0 -
We need a little balance here. Some things you might want to consider before buying Colt. Can you shoot, or at least hold, both? Which feels better in your hand? Shoots better for you? Whispers in your ear "Take me home and I'll be good to you?"
Won't go wrong with either one. I barrel length a factor for you? Yes, they still make the Rugers, which means parts availability wouldn't be a factor. Might be with the Colt. In the name of "disclousure" I will say that I love my Python and the older Colts but have never been a fan of the MK. III's. No problems, just don't touch my soul.
