Ruger Redhawk

Have a ruger Redhawk that someone did an action job on and the gun now only functions in double action only,do I need a new hammer or a new trigger or both can anyone help

    I have always leaned towards single actions and know little about changes in double actions of different makes over the years. What are the primary differences in a Ruger Redhawk 44 magnum and a Ruger SUPER Redhawk 44 magnum and is one better than the other? I know sometimes changes aren't good and don't work out. I did not even know about the SUPER. Thanks for any help.

    super RH has a super beefy frame... the regular RH will handle any 44 mag ammo you can put in it

    The Super RedHawk is the RedHawk on steroids. IMHO, Ruger had higher intensity cartridges than the 44 Remington Magnum in mind, when the Super RedHawk was concieved...like the 454 Casull.

    I own, and shoot both in 44 Magnum, and I have to tell you, that my favorate is my 7 1/2" SS RedHawk in 41 Magnum. Yes that is right, 41 Magnum. It will do 99% of what the 44 will do, with less recoil, and is extremely accurate.

    If you are looking for well built, heavy framed, large bore revolver's, don't look past the Dan Wesson's either. They are drying up FAST.

    I've had both the SBH and the SRH . I prefer the SRH because of it's recoil characteristics , much less muzzle flip , and they fit my hand better . Either one will digest ammo that would blow a S&W apart . My pet .44 Mag load wont even chamber in a S&W 29 , which is a good thing as a 29 wouldn't last too long with them !
