Stock spacers

I'm confused. My shotgun has optional spacers that can be put between the receiver & stock to change point of impact. Basically I think they increase the drop which should lower the point of impact I think. Am I correct? The gun shoots too low as it is

  Valmet model 412 had all kinds of off set spacers Up down left & right . [^][:)]

  You may be thinking of pitch. Increasing the pitch would cause the point of impact (POI) to be lower.

  Not certain which shotgun you have. Many spacers adjust LOP.

  the type really doesn't matter but its a benelli. When the spacer is put between the receiver & stock the LOP increases by the width of the spacer. LOP has no effect on point of impact. However the spacer effects the angle of the stock relative to the muzzle. I'm convinced adding spacers would lower the point of impact even more. True??
  
  
  OK guys I believe it is true based on my understanding or lack of. I don't know if my belief is correct. Each individual spacer is consistently ie same thickness . Each space is a different thickness.Installing the spacer has to move the top edge of the stock lower meaning more drop/pitch whatever. I would like a 50/50 impact point but I don't see how these spacers can get me there. The gun is probably 10/90 POI when property held and seeing a level rib not even a figure 8 if it made 2 beads. The gun shouldn't shoot that low normally. I got it used so perhaps it was damaged or always defective

  That would depend on whether it is a pitch plate. Thicker at top, thinner at the bottom.
  If yours is a pitch plate it may be reversible. If not reversible, contact Benelli to see if you can get a complete set of pitch plates.

  The offset spacer's do infact change the fit of the shotgun, by changing the pitch(up or down with the comb height), and offset of the stock. By changing the way one looks down the sighting plane, which is many times pitched to the centerline of the bore, it does change the point of impact. Pretty much like the adjustable ribs on many trap guns...you can change the percentage coverage of the pattern(many trap shooters like 60% above the point of aim plane). By adjusting the left or right(cast off, or cast on, depended which side is your strong side, north or south paw), you can also adjust the percentage left to right.
  
  So yes, the spacers come in many different configurations, and are the common mans option to having a custom stock built just for them.

  you cant have ti both ways. you're either convinced something is true or you're willing to entertain alternate ideas.
