How can one keep from scraching the frame when removing the slide stop? Anyone ever try a thin piece of tape under it before removing or replacing it?

  Most of the idiot marks get there trying to put the slide stop back in. I leave the stop hanging down then put it up to the notch after it is aligned and just push it stright in.
  Are you pulling the recoil spring first [?][?]
  Doing it, if you can, takes all the pressure off the slide when taking it off.
