S&W 686 Manufacture Date

I have a 6" S&W Model 686 (no dash). I purchased it in June 1986 for $289.95. It is serial number AJU40xx. It came with a four position adjustable front sight. I had it ported by Mag-Na-Port in 1986. I have thousands of rounds through it and it is still a great shooter. I was hoping to find out what the production date for this pistol was.

  Made about sept 1985. The 4 position front sight adds to the value.

  The Mag-Na-Port takes away much more market value than the adjustable front adds.
