Ruger Hawkeye, NRA Edition

As near as I can tell the only thing that distinguishes the NRA edition from the standard Hawkeye is the high gloss blue finish, upgraded wood (?) and floorplate logo.
Searches reveal many "win an NRA Hawkeye" references, but other than those, and the standard Ruger press release info, I've found little.
Some pictures show beautiful wood while others show very plain grained walnut. I picked up one in 7-08 and have seen many references to that caliber.
Would appreciate any info or references; other calibers than 7-08?
Accuracy experinces? Anything else that distinguishes them from the standard Hawkeyes?
