What caliber is it? How long is the barrel? By peep sight do you mean receiver sight? Has the receiver been drilled for mounting the receiver sight?

Can you post some pictures, it would be a great help. Is the sight on the receiver or the tang?

The receiver sight means it's been drilled, this hurts collector value. Generaly speaking, rifles are worth more than carbines, and there are more desirable calibers than 30-30.
Good clear, close pictures will help determine value.

thanks for your imput,i think i know it's not a hi value rifle but a nice shooter.i love this rifle, the action is smoother than any of my pre 64 winchesters the finish is excellent except the harding is gone from the reciver.i think this is a keeper for me.
    thanks so much gun702
