Hi Standard SK-100 Spring

I have a Hi Standard SK-100 22 pistol and just found out the slide lock spring is missing. Before I found that out I thought it was hanging up because of the non factory magazine. I purchased a factory one on gunbroker and same problem. After a closer look and the internet, that's when I realized the spring is missing. I can't figure out by looking how the spring goes in and can't find a good diagram online. Can someone help with a picture or something? Thanks.

    The pistol your inquiring about is the second model Sport King. You have to remove the barrel, slide and right grip. When the right grip is removed the slide stop can be removed. The slide stop spring is a tiny spring that fits in a very small hole in the slide stop.

    Thanks. Found it and now I know why it's probably not there. It would have to be small. My guess is if I remove the slide stop when I want to shoot it should fire fine and won't get hung up on the slide stop, it just won't stop in the open position after the last round. Am I right? I'll be looking for a small spring to put in eventually.

    It would work OK, as long as there is nothing else wrong with the HS. I've worked on a lot of the early Sport Kings over the years. They have a bad tendency to break firing pins, this also causes major malfunctions.

    The earliest Sport Kings were made without slide stops/hold opens, they functioned fine without them.

    Just figured out that a spring out of one of those bars that hold a watchband on a watch works great. I pulled one out and it fit like it was made for it. I had to cut it to the right length. I figured there's someone else out there who is missing a spring and could use the info too.
