They run the 10mm on a fully supported chamber platform, and use a heavy spring. I suggest the use of a recoil buffer to keep the slide from beating the frame to death. Personally, if I were going to go the extra for the Kimber, where as of the last few years, has had some quality issue's, I would consider just a few more dollars for a Fusion 1911.

I have one, Kimber Eclipse 10mm, and love it. Fusion is afine gun, would buy one in a minute, but the Eclipse is also a great gun. Never have had any problems with anything on it or with any ammo I shot through it. I have Kimber Targert in 40 cal that I am buying the barrel. spring, and mags to switch it back and forth between 40 cal and 10mm. 0 -

If the frame is not cut for the fully supported 10mm barrel, you might have a problem. I am not sure if they have the 40 fully supported or not.
