I had a little Cadet that was rebarreled to .357 Mag and it was a great shooter. For the rounds you are looking at a twist from 1 in 10 to 1 in 12 should give you what you need. IIRC the brass question may not be as much concern as it was a few years ago since the 204 Ruger is based on the .222 mag case, just anneal an upsize the necks. The capacity of the two cases is quite close and, if you stay with the stock shoulder it would be a question of which you like. Have you looked at the 6mm TCU? It is designed for the T/C, but may work in the Martini as well.

I've thought for a while that a nice small action like the Martini would be great in the 5.7x28 caliber...

Is the cadet strong enough for those cartridges [?][?] I had one years ago and it was sort of weak for anything over 22 hornet.

"Is the cadet strong enough for those cartridges "............DeHass thought so, they are 'springy' tho and should be tightly headspaced as well as bushing the firing pin.
