need opinion
Folks, I have a beautiful Martini Cadet action, stock and forend .I,m going to have it re-barreled . I'm thinking of 6x45(6x223), or 6x47(6x222 mag).It would be used for plinkikg and an occasional woodchuck.I have the rimless extractor.(Snapps).My question is; What is the pros and cons of each cartridge? And what would be the best twist for bullets no heavier than 80 grains? I am aware of the brass availity issue. Thanks to all

I had a little Cadet that was rebarreled to .357 Mag and it was a great shooter. For the rounds you are looking at a twist from 1 in 10 to 1 in 12 should give you what you need. IIRC the brass question may not be as much concern as it was a few years ago since the 204 Ruger is based on the .222 mag case, just anneal an upsize the necks. The capacity of the two cases is quite close and, if you stay with the stock shoulder it would be a question of which you like. Have you looked at the 6mm TCU? It is designed for the T/C, but may work in the Martini as well. 0 -
