Mossberg model 640 k chuckster

I had to buy a new clip for this rifle, just tried to shoot it yesterday and am having a problem with the clip not "locking" into place. I loaded it, pushed it into place against the bolt with in the closed position, cocked it and chambered a shell but felt the clip move. I can not chamber 5 shots without making sure the clip is up against the bolt, it is skiving the leading edge of the clip to get a shell chambered.. Is this normal??? Is there not a detent or something to assure the position of the clip, is the clip just not right?? Help !!!![:(]

  Post a pic of the magazine in quesion it may not be the correct one, but no one can help you without a picture.

  Now this is difficult for me, but i bought the magazine from Havlin sales,, their item #22wrm. Does this help you to identify it?

  Take the barreled action out of the stock and take a look, easier to see the engagement of the parts.
  
  Make sure the Angel bar that the magazine rides on in the rear is not bent or loose this can cause problems with lots of Mossberg magazines.
