Vari-X IIc 4X12 Scope
Just bought an NRA Ruger Hawkeye, 7-08. Beautiful wood and mint condition with box, but I really don't need the scope it came with and can't find much info on it.
It has a blue matt finish and the tube and bells are the same as a standard 3X9 Vari-XII. It's marked "Vari-X IIc".
Is this scope still available? Reasonable starting bid? Have tried GB auction search and other on-line inquiries but can't find this particular model.
Any input appreciated.
Update: Obj. Lens is 40, not 36. OAL 12 1/4", dial increments say
"2 MOA" though I haven't had a chance to check that out. Think I'll just list it and let interested buyers decide what its worth. I have more scopes than rifles at this point.

You might try GOOGLEing, Leupold vari-x-IIc, to see if anything shows up, if none of our folks has any insight on it. 0 -
If I am not mistaken, it is a VX-II Compact, in 4-12x36 configuration. I don't believe it's still being made today.

I read somewhere that the "c" designates a design change in the '80s. I think these have MOA adjustments although I didn't pull one of mine to check. I have several with the "c" designation and they're typical quality Leupold Vari-X II scopes. You can check the year of manufacture by the letter code in the serial number. If in good condition it should sell somewhere between $175 and $225. . .maybe a little more on a good day. 0 -
Yep the C was just a change in the standard Vari-XII 3-9X40mm. I was told that was when they first started to coat the lens. Take that for what it's worth. $150-175 range blue usually on the lower end. Matte usually on the higher side. 0
