Colt 45 auto question

Does this gun appear to have been bead blasted? (not factory finish)

Even though it says satin nickel it looks to me like there are media marks inside the slide and on the feed ramp.

  I'm not sure what happened to it, but thats not a factory satin finsh.

  The pictures aren't great but looks pretty much like the satin nickel Commanders I have. I've noted a fairly wide variation in the satin nickel finish across the Colt production period and this one does not look that odd to me. Sharper pictures would be nice though. I'd have a hard time paying the asking price for it though.

  NO WAY I would pay what he wants for starting price .IN my opinion the only thing RIGHT is the correct serial number letters for a satin finish from the factory. but hard for me to believe Colt would have let it out with THAT finish and second thing hard to believe is someone bought it like that when NEW. [:0][:(]

  I think they may have used a coarser medium early in production, plus the photo lighting may change the appearance. The gun looks righteous to me.

  It looks like mine did before I built and hard chromed it.
  I think his lighting makes it look like it does.
  Also I think the bright lights got in his eyes when he put the price in the ad [8D]
  
  Compare Neal,s picture to his #1+6 where the lighting is about the same. The Colt Satin Nickle wore very fast shooting the pistols with it.

  I'm not particularly familiar with Colt's commercial finishes of that time frame, but it just doesn't look right. The metal appears to have been sand blasted. Rather then vapor blasted with plastic beads, prior to being plated. It just doesn't seem credible that Colt would put this type of finish on a new pistol.
  
  I've seen this done in the past on refinished guns. It's done as a cheap and dirty way to mask imperfections, rather then going to the time and expense of polishing them out. Not freaken likely found on a new pistol from a reputable maker, IMHO.

  Almost looks like it has been painted, I have seen paints with a textured look. If you look closely at picture 9, on the bottom front of the slide it almost looks like the paint is worn off and a spot of the original finish is visible.

  I had one back in the mid 1970s. It looked just like the one in the auction. They were VERY ugly. The finish was not durable, either. Mine showed wear fairly quickly.
  
  I agree the price is ridiculous but he is free to ask whatever he wants.

  Ok, it does look more "grainy" than the two I had,but those grips are clean and correct,,I be;ieve it is correct,,but as stated,,the price is waaaaaaaaay over what it is worth to me.
