Import restrictions of the Arms Export Control Act are under control of ATF; you can check with them, but I don't know that there is any problem with importing a gun stock.

I can't imagine France would have a problem with exporting a stock. Is it possible that you've just been scammed? The fellas working out of the Internet cafes in Lagos have gotten pretty good.

I couldn't find it on the atf site when I looked. it's a remington top folder. The seller already said he would refund my money if there was a problem. Can you elaborate? I forgot to metion that it is a used stock that I bought off of ebay.

Most of the top folding Remington factory stocks are marked LAW ENFORCEMENT ONLY, which was a Remington internal policy and did not have the force of law like the 1994 Crime Bill. I am thinking that if your stock is marked LE Only then the French Customs may have an issue with exporting it. This is just a guess.
