You might check the on-line auctions, early DW's turn up occasionally. Don't pay any attention to pipe dream asking prices, but actual selling prices. The early Monson production guns might have some collector interest?

Though not as pleasant appearing, the W12 is just as well made and accurate as the 15's. Barrels/shrouds for them can be somewhat difficult to find.

These are PDF files and can be slooow to load.

If I recall, the model 12 had the "pork chop" barrel where the barrel shroud had an extension down the front of the frame vice the screw on barrel of the Model 14 and 15. Can't recall whether it had the exposed barrel nut or not and I'm pretty sure that only the Monson factory made the Model 12's.

Not as desirable as a model 14 or 15 but still a well made gun, if it is in the Pistol Pack case (brown briefcase looking affair) with the key then the case itself is worth about a hundred bucks on fleabay. Barrels (complete assembly) sell for between 50 and 100 with the longer barrels being more desirable. I don't think they ever made the 10", 12" or 15" for the model 12 though.

My guess would be if complete (4 barrels and shrouds, gun itself, extra front sights, extra grips, belt buckle and patch, barrel tool and BC check gage) in a case you're probably looking between $600 and $800 depending on condition. Usually one barrel is beat up and three barrels are mint ...........

There is a Dan Wesson Forum with people who specialize in the Dan Wesson, the Model 12 just isn't as popular as the 14 or 15.

The W12 is some what collectible but not any where as popular as the model 15& 715. The early Monson guns in the 15 & 715 models are the most popular and the highest price. I'd like to see what they offered you in a trade before giving a final assessment.
