Voere Rifle help
Does anyone know about these rifles? It is a Voere Shikar model in 308. I know it looks like the Weatherby, but value wise is it worth anything?

This is an example of a Voere Shikar in .308 Win.
I have several dozen pages of analysis of these rifles but I'm not tempted to post them as most of it is beyond what average shooters like us really want to read.
Suffice it to say that the design is original to the manufacturer and is only seen in bits and pieces on other models from different manufacturers.
The bolt is special in that it is a constant diameter where the lugs and the bolt body share the same diameter. The bolt also plays a role in tuning the trigger and letting the bolt release function correctly. It a balancing act the first time you attempt to tune the trigger and still be able to get the bolt out of the receiver. The safety is located at the top rear of the bolt shroud.
The stocks are usually fine quality walnut featuring Rosewood fore ends and grip caps. The checkering is a giveaway to the time period since it's skip line which I have no love for at all.
Other than that, most of the rifle is good German/Austrian design and manufacturing.
I bought mine at a time when they were less valued but the current range seems to be from somewhere around $400 to just a pinch under $1,000. I think that some folks lack the ability to separate reality from realistic pricing so those high end prices will be rare. These are good solid rifles with a style unique to themselves and should command prices in the $500 range.
Take some pictures and post them so we can evaluate the condition of yours and give a better estimate.
