It certainly not Tula! About 1.5% are bad so far. When my supply is gone, never again. Consitant in accuracy, but not great.

Another for CCI or Winchester. Been loading for more than 40 years using these without problems. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.

For small rifle primers I shot 4000 Rem 7 1/2 Benchrest Primers with excellent results. I'm on my second 1000 of Federal Small Rifle Match with even better results. Serious benchrest shooters use these Federal primers 10 to 1 over all others.

CCI has yet to let me down. I've bought others, but look for them first.

With pistol I have been partial to Winchester in the past but with the primer pricing going sky high I tend to buy "ON SALE" brand for 25 yard shooting and CCI for the 50 yard line.

Rifle, CCI Small and Remington LR and LR mag.

Wolf. So far I have had zero problems with them and accuracy is as good as any other non benchrest primer I've tried, but at 2/3 the cost.

CCI loaded over 250,000 rounds of 45ACP on my Star loader. Never had a dud and better group size then others BUT to tell the truth I never tried "working up a load" with others like I did with the cci I always bought 5000 at a time and tried to get 10,000 - 50,000 if I could find same lot number . Then work up a load with this LOT.

Worst, least reliable ignition was with Rem 9 1/2 Magnums in my .300WM; best overall have been CCI or Winchester for anything I load.

CCI or Winchester. I've recently run about 3k Wolf small rifle primers through my AR and .223. I would go with them again no question. If CCI is available on anything needing tight accuracy that is my preference though.

I was hoping someone would say something about Wolf Primers. I've been considering getting some.
Money is as scarse as hens teeth these days.

    1. Winchester WSP, WLP, WLR
    2. CCI Sm Pistol

I also have some Federal SP Magnums that I bought during the primer drought, and some Remington SP's from the same period. As soon as they were available, I bought the Win & CCI primers and have used them exclusively since. The rest of the Remington and Federal primers sit unused.

I've used more CCI than anything else. ( The color of the primer don't matter at all to me. )

I've had no difficulties with nonfunctional primers of any I have ever used. Luck of the draw?

Have noted guys I've loaded with that had questionable primer storeage, handling and technique with subsequent less than stellar primer function. [:(]

perry shooter - definitely has the best idea in procurring and using larger quatities of same primer lot number! [^]

    Consistantancy, uniformity and repeatability.

CCI & Winchester have always been my favorites..I used federals when I could not get the other two, and had some miss fires and pierced primers, the ones I got seemed to have been "soft" wont buy them again

I also had great shooting with both CCI and Winchester pistol and rifle primers. You can't go wrong with either one.

Mostly use Winchester, but use CCI also. Currently have some PMC that I am working with for comparison.

CCI is my primer of choice--never had a misfire in either LR, LP, or SP. This is after about 8k total. I'm going to buy it exclusively for SR.

I've used WIN in LP and SP, and have had many misfires in SP, but the LP have been 100% good (about 3K used). The WIN SP has had about 1% misfires in my Bersa Thunder .380 and Walther PK380, consistently, after 3K or so used. I can count on 3-4 out of 100-150 rounds as misfires at the range. On the second or third attempt, most will go, but I usually bring one or two rounds home to pull and deprime, and try again. That's just not good enough.

Federal, if I can't get those...Federal. The only ones that reliably go bang with the tuned actions on my match revolvers.

For the most part I use Winchester for both rifle and pistol, although I do use Federal 210 Match when loading for my Rem. Model 700 5R Milspec .308

I tried CCI many years ago and found them somewhat oversize/hard to seat.
