Small .22 short where to get a hammer
I got this little pistol and all the parts including the main spring are there but it is missing the hammer small .22 short. Does anyone know where to get parts.

Not trying to be cute but purchase a hammer and nail at hardware store and put it in a place to view the gun. The parts are very few and far between and will cost as much as a gun. Even then firing would be iffy. 0 -
Take it to Red Jacket. He might make you one for free if you let him shoot it. 0 -

Floyd thanks for the answer some people always have to put a smart ass remark. Just trying to find a hammer for the gun. Not a hammer to nail it to a wall it is a .22 short with no rust or pitting proofed for black powder so of course if I get a hammer I will shoot it. 0 -
I have a couple about that size, but shorter barrels (Baby Hammerless, made by Kolb and Sedgeley) Yours MAY be a Baby, or a European version of same. Not to be bearer of bad news, but if BP proofed they are over 100 years old, were inexpensive guns when new (around $3) and finding parts will be equal to winning the lottery while getting struck by lightning (Hey- it COULD happen!)
A talented smith with some free time may be able to fabricate a striker and a spring, but strongly doubt you will find one. Anything written on topstrap of yours?0 -
It's most likely Belgian, and will have the ELG in an oval proofmark on cylinder face. They are fairly common but most were made by "cottage industry" workers and parts are not interchangeable. Browse the parts boxes at gunshows and you might find a junker with a hammer that can be fitted. 0
