WC Blank Powder

I have been loading blanks for a western gunfight group (.44 & .45 LC hanguns)for the past 25 years and have always bought WC Blank powder from Thunderbird Cartridge Company in Phoenix, AZ. They no longer handle the powder and I need a new resource for future purchases. The only information on the powder they have is that it was military powder. Any information is appreciated.

  My guess it was Olin ball. I'd contact the powder makers to see what they have to offer. Are you star crimping or using just a wad?

  You can get a pretty good effect with 3f or 4f blackpowder. About 3 grains, under a cardboard wad makes a decent bang and puts out a nice puff of smoke for the tourists with cameras. [:D]
