gas to Piston
I'm starting my first piston build and got a sweet deal on an Adams Arms retro-fit carbine piston system. I'd like to go from the ground up and was thinking of putting it into a DPMS oracle carbine kit.
Any suggestions or cautions with mating these two kits? Anyone have first hand experience with splicing these together?

You might research on-line. There are a number of commercial sites and forums that have specific instructions for various types of AR builds. Since these gas piston operating systems have become popular recently, I'm sure they are covered as well. As long as this Adams gas piston kit is compatible with the DPMS upper? Have you contacted Adams and DPMS regarding this? 0 -
I guess my question would be, why gas piston? I think personally, that the other issues(especially bolt tilt of the lesser engineered kits, and parts availability) induced by most piston systems, outweigh any advantage. The only advantage I can see is they might run cooler under the forarm, during extended firing strings, or in full auto mode.
I know a very reputable company, who took another very reputable companies, piston platform out of an AR, and replaced it with a very well engineered direct gas impingement system. They created an extremely reliable tack driver, that will shoot with most high end bolt guns(I am talking credentialed sniper systems here), out to 1000 yards. It is gauranteed to shoot 3/4 MOA, and will usually hold 3/8 to 1/2 MOA.
As far as cleaning goes, you have to take either system apart to clean it, so there is no difference.
As for the original question, I would see no reason the kits wouldn't mate well, as long as the gas block/piston is the proper distance for the op-rod/piston to reach the buzzardized bolt carrier.

Also if you decide to go this route make sure which ever hand guards you use are compatible
with a piston kit. Not all hand guards will work with them.0
