Field King vs Sport King
Can someone tell me if the Hi-Standard Field King and Sport King 22 pistols use the same magazine? Thanks.

depending on the vintage SERIAL # range there is slope gripe and military grip models if you give us a picture of ech or serial # of each we can tell you 0 -
The Filed King appeared in the lever name, 100 and 101 design series.
The Sport King appeared in the lever name, 100, 101, 103 103, 107 and SH design series.
The 107 and SH design series used the military grip angle magazines.
The lever name series were introduced using the Old style finger style magazine but during the second year of production they transitioned to the new Harry Sefried designed lip style magazine. All used the large follower button.
Any of the slant grip lip style magazines can be used in the slant grip Field King or Sprot King models.
Magazines made of aftermarket manufacturers have a poor reputation - get originals.0 -
It's possible to alter original High Standard manufactured military grip magazines to function in the earlier slant grip pistols. The magazines bodies are the same. I didn't realize this till I bought some at a gun show, that had been altered. All that is required is that the plastic extension on the bottom of the military grip magazine be removed. 0 -
+1 for real HS mags 0 -
Hello Rufe,
Yes, Military grip angle magazines can be modified fit a slant grip frame and often they work just fine. There was a final operation at the factory to the slant grip magazines that is often not noticed. The bottom rear corner of the magazine was dubbed off to a specific dimension after the shell was assembled.0
